I put antivirus software on my computer a year ago. Now a friend is telling me that I sent out a virus. What else should I have done?Installing antivirus software is the most cost effective thing you can do to protect your computer. Any computer that is used to access the Internet or to receive e-mail should have anti-virus protection. However, for the software to remain effective it must be updated once or twice a week with the latest virus definition files from your anti-virus software provider. Viruses are created every day and if your software is not updated it will not be protected from the latest viruses.
